Melannya has been riding, training, showing, taking care of horses, and judging horse shows since 1985. She has learned so much from other trainers, coaches, vets, vet techs, and her own intuition, and has an eye for lameness issues as well as the Purrrfect touch to help calm, relax, and balance your horse.
Having grown up with all kinds of pets all her life she has had experiences with breeding many different kinds of pets, taking care of them, socializing them, dealing with the heart aches, and so much more. She has a natural instinct and affection for pets.
Melannya has been in the Equine massage business since 2003 and loves what she does and how it helps her clients. In 2003 she became interested in the holisitc healing field for animals and became certified in Equine Sports Massage. Soon she excelled in the field and began to include dogs for treatments applying what she had learned from practicing with horses. In 2005 she achieved certification as a Pet Massage Practitioner. This enabled her to work more with small animals such as dogs and cats.
In 2004 Melannya became interested in Reiki through a friend who had been taking a course. It seemed to come naturally to her when dealing with horse injuries and her own pets at home. She obtained her Level 1 Reiki training, and it proved to be very beneficial for humans and pets. Melannya continued to follow the path of Reiki and received her Level 2 in 2010.
Always looking to continue her education in the alternative healing field, as much for her own benefits as for Pawsitive Balance, she became interested in the use of Crystal gem stones and Chakra healing. After in depth research and study she began to incorporate the stones and Chakra healing, as part of the healing alternatives with pets, people and herself.
Suffering with back pain and depression, anxiety most of her life, she found traditional medicine unsuccessful for her and sought out these alternatives for herself first. Aromatherapy was another avenue that worked well and was a constant in her research for improved health and wellness. Her personal experience was so powerful that she knew it was what she wanted to share with everyone. In 2009 Melannya became a Certified Aromatherapist.
Melannya currently works at a small animal veterinary clinic and has since 2008. She has gained a lot of experience working alongside the technicians and veterinarians and has knowledge of when to treat or not treat certain ailments, as well as access to additional information through the clinic.
Today she is building a holistic healing business for people and pets. Using massage with Reiki and Essential oils, she has a unique, custom treatment for you and your pets.
